What are Workplace Health Promotion Grants?
In addition to WorkHealth check funding there is also the opportunity for businesses to apply for workplace health promotion grants. This funding is available to companies where the majority of employees have been offered health checks in the last two years. What types of activities are likely to be funded?
Workplace health promotion grants are available for activities which:
- Aim to reduce chronic disease risk factors and focus on one or more of the following factors – increased physical activity, healthy diet, smoking cessation, responsible alcohol consumption and/or positive mental health
- Encourage healthy behaviours and improve the health and wellbeing of workers
- Create a supportive work environment that makes healthy choices easy for workers and encourages them to maintain healthy behaviours in the future
Eligibility for Workplace Health Promotion Grants
Employers are eligible to apply for workplace health promotion grants if they meet the following criteria:
- Are a Victorian business or have Victorian based operations
- Pay a WorkSafe injury premium or are an approved WorkSafe self-insurer
- Have already offered health checks to the majority of workers in the past two years
