Ergonomics – Work Desk Assessment
Nabenet’s qualified Occupational Therapist will conduct a work desk assessment to identify any potential specific employee requirements.
The ergonomic work desk assessment promotes a safe working environment and delivers knowledge and techniques which increase production and decrease lost time.
There are two types of work desk assessments that are available:
Basic Ergonomic Work Desk Assessment
If a basic assessment is completed of a non injured worker, and all assessments are completed over one day then in this instance, an assessment would be provided on the day which includes a bried hand written recommendation list including a tick and flick checklist. This would normally entail up to 30 minutes per worker / workstation but normally able to review up to 3 work assessments per hour if on site for the day. A brief hand written report would be provided with follow up by the occupational therapist to ensure appropriate equipment recommendations are provided to the employer.
Worker with an injury (work related or non work related)
Assessment involves a meeting with the employee prior to commencing the workstation assessment. This allows the consultant to gain a good medical background and history regarding the current medical issues. During this assessment, the employee’s role is also discussed and time spent doing each task (average).
Workstation assessment is completed whereby the occupational therapist has the employee sit at his/her workstation at which time observations are made. Photos are also taken to demonstrate issues to be included on the report. The total time of assessments including interview is approximately 1 hour.
Following the interview and assessment, the Nabenet consultant develops a report which incorporates researching any equipment and providing details re suppliers, a detailed account of history, role and any recommendations along with workstation checklist. The Nabenet consultant will also call any medical practitioners / physiotherapists regarding the employee to gain further information (their approval is required prior to this contact).
The total time of assessment including interview, researching and report is approximately 3 hours.
