National Disability Insurance Scheme

Nabenet is a registered NDIS provider, delivering support to individuals aged 18 years and over. Our NDIS team is comprised of highly skilled health professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Rehabilitation Counsellors. Our NDIS team is focused on delivering holistic, client centered and tailored services, which are designed to maximise an individual’s potential and independence. Assistive Technology and Equipment Advice and Prescription

Assistive technology, as defined by the World Health Organisation, is ‘any device or system that allows individuals to perform tasks they would otherwise be unable to do or increases the ease and safety with which tasks can be performed’

Assistive technology provides additional support to an individual to reach their potential at home, in the community and at the workplace. Assistive technology may be equipment or systems which help you with moving around your home, process information and complete activities of daily living.

An assistive technology assessment is designed to evaluate your needs and situation and identify the most appropriate equipment or system for you. Our therapists are highly skilled in assessing, prescribing and recommending a range of equipment, including:

  • Manual and powered wheelchairs
  • Beds, mattresses and accessories
  • Bathing and toileting aids
  • Specialised seating
  • Technological and safety devices
  • Hoists, transfer aids and slings
  • Kitchen and dressing aids
  • Mobility aids, including motorised scooters and walking frames

Home Modifications

Home modifications are changes to the structure, layout or fitting of an individual’s home to enable the ability to safely and comfortably access and move around the home. Recommendations towards the home may include temporary or permanent modifications, including:

  • Installation of grab rails
  • Hand held shower hoses
  • Ramps
  • Bathroom / kitchen modifications
  • Non-slip surfaces

Therapeutic Supports

Nabenet’s NDIS therapists can assist individuals to apply their functional skills to improve and maintain participation and independence in daily, practical activities in areas such as;

  • Personal Care
  • Domestic Tasks
  • Mobility and Movement
  • Community Access and Living

Therapy may be provided by a range of our experienced allied health therapists, including: Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists.

Falls Prevention and Education

Nabenet’s qualified therapists know the importance and value of remaining in your own home. A falls assessment is beneficial to enable an individual to live safely, whilst maximising their independence, function and potential. Falls prevention education, equipment recommendations and daily living skills training may be recommended following an assessment.

Exercise Physiology; Personal Wellbeing Activities


Nabenet’s Exercise Physiologists work closely with individuals to develop exercise plans and personal wellbeing activities. Promoting physical wellbeing exercises and activities is extremely beneficial in improving: strength; postural control; function; flexibility and range of movement and quality of life.

Specialist Support Coordination


Specialist Support Coordination is provided by Nabenet’s experienced Occupational Therapists, and is designed to assist an individual manage a variety of challenges in their support environment, including health, education or justice services.

The aim of support coordination within the NDIS is to assist individuals in reducing barriers to implementing their NDIS plan. Our Occupational Therapists will assist you to achieve this through exploring what options, recommendations and supports may be suitable for you to access.
